Delete your account

You can delete your Carrimi account and the personal data in it at any time. There is no form to fill in and nobody to persuade.

From inside the app (fastest)

Open Carrimi and go to the Profile tab.
Tap Delete account.
Confirm. You are signed out immediately on every device.

By email

If you no longer have the app installed, email privacy@carrimi.ng from the address you signed up with, with the subject Delete my account. We complete the deletion within 30 days, usually within two working days.

What is deleted

Immediately and permanently:

Your name and profile photo
Your email address and phone number
Your Google sign-in link, if you used one
Your driver verification status and uploaded documents, if you were a driver
Every signed-in session, on every device

Your email address is released at the same moment, so you can sign up again later and get a genuinely new account rather than reopening this one.

What we keep, and why

Some records are not only about you. A trip has two people in it, and a payment record is a financial record. Those survive with your identity removed from them — they refer to an anonymous former user, not to you.

Trips you took part in — the other person is entitled to their own history, and safety reports have to stay investigable. Up to 3 years, anonymised.
Credit and payment records — kept as financial records for up to 7 years, anonymised. We never held your ride fares, so there is no money to return.

Your National Identification Number is not on either list, because we never stored it. We only ever kept the result of the check.

Credits you have not spent

Prepaid credits buy a service and are not cash — they cannot be withdrawn, and deleting your account forfeits any remaining balance. Spend them first if you want their value.
